The Authority tendered this service provision in 2016, with an initial term of 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2022 and a maximum extension period of a further 4 years. The Authority has extended the contract for the maximum extension period, meaning that the contract will officially end on 31st March 2026. As such, a tender exercise is required to put in place a new contract for the HWRC and two Transfer Station for 1st April 2026. We are proposing to undertake a market engagement process in early 2025, once a service review has taken place the preferred delivery model has been identified and has received Cabinet approval. The initial term to be for a period of approx. 5 years with a maximum extension period of 5 years.
