Surveys were undertaken by the Authority's Structural Engineers in 2008 (now superseded), which highlighted a number of defects requiring remediation at that time and works including minor re-pointing & re-setting, anchoring, minor re-building and in some cases complete re-build schemes were implemented. This contract is a continuation of this remedial repair and maintenance work and the contract will operate for three years and costs reimbursement through re-measurement is based upon a schedule of rates priced by the successful contractor. Once appointed, the successful contractor will be expected to respond to reactive requests to implement remedial works within 28day, but an initial visit and rapid deployment to remove or stabilise dangerous walls maybe necessary in some urgent cases on request form the client.
